Hey everyone, welcome to Deckless! My name is Darren. I've been a web developer for nearly 25+ years coding since the early days of PHP3. I just launched this beta web app like literally today so I'm just very proud to have finished at least the very first version of this software. I really wanted to make this out of my own need to replace current presentation software for the every day use. I mean let's be honest, we're not Steve Jobs doing a keynote presentation in front of thousands or millions of people.
We're just people who go to work every day and have to write down notes and organize things into bite size pieces here and there. And every once in a while share those notes with others. That's what Deckless was created for. The fact that it can do it so easily and seamlessly is why I like it.
Anyways, I needed some SEO content so here is the deck below for our original Welcome to Deckless deck. It's written completely in markdown and rendered using the same code for our slides. Honestly, it just makes writing articles so much easier, it's not just decks or slides.
So enjoy!

Why Deckless?
I hate slides as much as you do.
Deckless was created out of my own frustration.
Here's what I know ...
- I don't want to be a part-time graphic designer
- I'd rather share my ideas than align text boxes
I dread opening up presentation software to make a simple edit before a meeting that's happening in 10 minutes

Who is Deckless for?
Deckless is not a design tool. If you need to push pixels or nudge a box to get the perfect layout, Deckless is NOT for you.
Deckless is for ...
- People who need to communicate their points in meetings RIGHT NOW

We've all been there Steve...

Prompt: "Hey ChatGPT, can you write a slide on how to pitch a startup?"
Sure thing boss! Let me write a presentation for you...
# How to write a pitch deck
- Step 1: Don't overthink it
- Step 2: Get to the point
...Who needs built-in AI when you copy/paste from ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude anyways?
Reduce your grind
Your thoughts → Notes → Markdown → Instantly Presentable Slides

Why must we use Google Slides...

"Can you update our deck?" ...Aw geez, not again...

"No design needed—just your text and markdown syntax, which you already know and use."
Who will benefit?
Anyone who needs to share ideas fast and often

Look forward to that morning meeting
Deckless isn’t about the perfect deck. It’s about the right deck, right now.
Simple. Instant. Done.

But wait, there's more...
Two modes
1. Canvas mode
Your slides don't have to be linear.
Simply drag and pan and zoom in and out with your mouse wheel to click and present any slide you'd like.

lets do notes too...
2. Notes mode
Not everything has to be a slide. Just click on Canvas to switch to "Notes" mode where you can view your notes in a single scrollable page.
Then you can share a link to your beautifully rendered notes!
It views like a web site you can share
You notes will never look better

Also did I mention the "Go Live" feature?
When you share a link and click "Go Live", all your slide changes and edits will by synced to the shared presentation link in real-time.
What do I use it for?
Content creators, producers, podcasters, often need notes they can broadcast to multiple screens.
Just put up screen somewhere that always shows which slide you're viewing. It's really up to your imagination what you can do.

Wait, so you're saying I can create a link to any deck, then see my edits instantly update and appear in real time on any browser?
yes
